It is 6:47 a.m. and my internet just shut down without my permission, causing the download that I started at 5:30 a.m. to end before finishing. Argh. I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't a program that I really need to finish up some stuff for our business. So, I have started it over, and now have about two hours of time to kill online (if I don't keep doing something the internet times out). Anyway, here I am with plenty of time to blog, and not much to blog about. :)

I guess I'll start with some pictures from our multiple snow storms.

This is what our windows looked like most of the mornings after the snow.

Our barn in the snow. If you look at the left hand side of the trail through the snow you can see Dozer (our beagle) plowing (our should I say "dozing" :) his way through about 14'' of snow.

The new addition to the farm. This little lamb was born in the snow and cold. Her owners rescued her, and through a series of people and events, we got her. She is fun and different and we are looking forward to trying our hand at raising a sheep.



Well, that's about it for now. I thought all of the snow that we got was beautiful, and really enjoyed it, but I have to say that a forecast of 60 degree days for the next week or so sounds really, really nice. No more frozen water, stock tanks, eggs, or fingers! And no more spending ten minutes or more getting bundled up to go outside, just open the door and go out!

To Much To Say

I am so far behind on blogging about life here, that I am not even going to try to catch up. However, for once it is not my fault. Through many issues, complications, and mistaken quotes, I wound up without internet access for a couple of months. Now I have a new phone, faster internet, and not much to gripe about :)



I don't have a ton of time to write today, but I thought I would at least get things updated a little.



Since February is the purple month, and since we have over 12 inches of snow at my house, I thought this background was just about perfect. The weather is the big news here. Colin got to stay home for THREE whole days this week. It was great. Yesterday we decided it would be nice to be able to leave if we wanted to so we worked on getting the driveway cleared (this after getting two of our vehicles stuck). I never considered our driveway to be especially long before. I have since revised my definition of long. We only cleared enough off of the top of the snow to be able to drive without using the bumper as a snow plow, and it still took us several hours to get it done. The mail person has not come for four days, unless they managed to be here without leaving any tracks in the snow on the unploughed roads.



Well, I have got to go make bread, and maybe a peach cobbler......

Snow and Freezing Fog

After the last big snow that we had, Colin's family came out for some fun. First they built a huge snow tower, so much more fun that the traditional snowman right? The tower just finished melting last Thursday!




Then it was time for snowball fights. The rules were everyone against everyone else, and you were never sure who was going to turn on you next!

One Wednesday I got before it was light and while listing to the news, they gave out a freezing fog advisory. I didn't think much of it until I went outside just after dawn to do chores, then I turned right around, went back inside, and got the camera. Here are some of the results.

It was one of the most stunning sights I have ever seen, and gave me such a sense of awe at the beauty that the Lord puts around us, even in this broken, ugly world. Later when the sun came out all of the little ice crystals came sparkling down through the light. It was truly overwhelmingly beautiful.
